TeamQRT Group has been delivering Thomas Built School Buses since 1980. As a specialized OTR bus transport company, we operate differently than traditional driveaway firms. Our core mission relies on a collaborative team approach, where drivers typically travel in groups of 3–5, with one driver per vehicle, to deliver buses throughout the U.S. and Canada.
This is an Over-The-Road (OTR) Independent Contractor position focused on driving new Thomas Built School Buses. You will join a convoy to transport vehicles from our hub in High Point, NC, to various delivery locations. The role requires a professional demeanor and the ability to coordinate closely with a Lead Driver and fellow group members before every trip departs.
As a Group Driver, you are responsible for the condition of the vehicle during transport and must ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs. The job may require staying on the road for multiple days depending on the destination. After completing a delivery, the group travels back to the pick-up location together. Drivers must maintain accurate daily logs using the MOTIVE app and handle all necessary paperwork for payout.
We offer a flexible, non-forced dispatch model where drivers choose when they want to drive. Expenses such as lodging and fuel are covered while active on a trip. Drivers are paid per mile, with a starting rate of $0.38/mile for the drive-back leg and $0.32/mile for the fly-back leg. Canadian trips include an additional $0.02 per mile plus a $125 bonus. Same-day pay is available if all requirements, including accurate and timely paperwork submission, are met. We also offer referral bonuses and clean inspection bonuses.
This is an Independent Contractor position, not a company driver or owner/operator role. To remain active, drivers must complete at least one trip per month and attend in-person onboarding in High Point, NC. Applicants must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL (Passenger endorsement preferred) and have verifiable OTR CMV or School Bus driving experience within the last three years. A relatively clean driving report and employment history are required, including MVR, PSP, CSA, and Clearinghouse checks. Specific background checks apply to those who have completed a SAP program or have accidents in the last three years.
Drivers must be equipped with a cell phone, a walkie talkie (available for purchase at the office), screwdrivers (flathead and Philips), an adjustable crescent wrench, a 1/2-inch wrench, and blue painters tape.
