About the Role
As a Climber 1 (C-1), you will serve as the beginner-level support climber for a standard tree crew. This role is designed for team members who have demonstrated basic skills and proficiency in tree care operations. You will work as part of an effective crew, assisting and supporting the crew leader in a variety of ways to ensure jobsite and crew efficiency.
In this position, you will climb trees to work at heights of up to 60 feet, performing basic pruning functions and limb removal on small to medium-sized trees. Your day-to-day responsibilities include safely accessing the canopy, moving throughout the tree, and removing branches without causing damage or injury. You will also be responsible for job site setup and cleanup, daily equipment inspection and maintenance, and ensuring that all operations, job sites, and team members remain safe.
Communication is a critical part of your role. You will use hand signals to coordinate with other climbers and verbally direct the general public to ensure their safety around the work area. By following established procedures related to roping, rigging, and equipment maintenance, you help maintain the high standards of safety and quality that define our team.
