The Head of Customs Compliance is a senior leadership position within the Global Trade Compliance organization at GE Vernova. This role is critical for directing and overseeing customs and import/export compliance across the company's global footprint, specifically supporting the complex energy sector supply chain. As the enterprise-wide subject matter expert, you will partner closely with business segments, sourcing, legal, tax, finance, and government affairs functions to enable the efficient cross-border movement of goods, equipment, and technology essential to the company's global operations.
You will serve as the strategic architect for the company's global customs program, aligning compliance objectives with broader corporate strategy and risk appetite. Your day-to-day involves designing policies that ensure adherence to trade regulations worldwide while optimizing duty spend through preferential trade agreements and duty suspension programs. You will act as the primary liaison for customs authorities, managing audits and trusted trader programs, while championing the adoption of technology and data analytics to modernize compliance operations.
This position requires a leader who can navigate shifting trade policies, tariff changes, and sanctions developments, translating complex regulatory information into practical business guidance for senior executives and cross-functional teams.

Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) designation or equivalent international certification. Juris Doctor (JD) or master's degree in international trade, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Experience operating in a Fortune 200 or similarly large, complex multinational organization. Prior experience in the energy, oil and gas, mining, or heavy industrial sector. One or more additional languages in addition to English.
