About the Role
As a Crew Lead Tree Climber, you will be a key member of our General Tree Care Team, guiding a group of highly trained professionals in delivering top-tier tree care services. This role is designed for those who demonstrate strong leadership qualities and wish to take ownership of their team's performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
In this position, you will lead the execution of complex tasks including pruning, removals, and cabling for a diverse range of tree species. You will apply your expertise in climbing techniques, chainsaw operations, and safety protocols to ensure the health and beauty of our clients' landscapes. Beyond technical execution, you will foster a positive, safety-focused team culture, ensuring clear communication between crew members and clients. You will be responsible for identifying hazards, performing safety checks, and leading aerial rescues when necessary, ensuring that every job is completed with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleApply ANSI A300 Pruning Standards and safety practices to all tasks
- check_circleIdentify hazards and perform safety checks before, during, and after each job
- check_circlePerform aerial rescues to ensure safety in high-risk situations
- check_circleOperate chainsaws, aerial lifts, and other tree care equipment effectively
- check_circleClimb trees safely using ropes, saddles, ladders, and proper techniques
- check_circleMaintain strong communication with team members and clients regarding service and safety
Requirements
- verifiedValid U.S. driver's license (CDL is a plus)
- verifiedAuthorization to work legally in the U.S.
- verifiedProficient in proper pruning techniques for large shade trees and ornamentals
- verifiedStrong knowledge of tree and shrub species
- verifiedComfortable climbing without spurs
- verifiedSkilled in adhering to tree care safety standards
- verifiedExperienced with chainsaws, aerial lifts (bucket trucks)
- verifiedExpertise in proper pruning cuts, branch collars, and chainsaw operations
- verifiedFamiliarity with ANSI A300 Pruning Standards and ANSI Z safety guidelines
