Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

About the Position

Cynet Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. This 13-week contract role focuses on the assessment, treatment management, and care of patients experiencing pathophysiological alterations of gas exchange related to respiration. The position is designed for professionals dedicated to maintaining high standards of patient satisfaction and service excellence.

Day in the Life

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be the frontline provider for critical respiratory care. Your day involves verifying physician orders, assessing patients, and administering a wide range of treatments, including ventilator care, noninvasive ventilation, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen therapy. You will be responsible for initiating and monitoring mechanical ventilation, adjusting modes and settings as prescribed, and managing artificial airways through suctioning and circuit maintenance.

Collaboration is key to your role. You will participate in multidisciplinary rounds, consult with physicians regarding therapy changes, and transport intubated patients for diagnostic testing. Effective communication is essential, requiring you to coordinate with switchboard operators, provide bedside reports to incoming shifts, and document patient and family education meticulously. You will also manage the administration of medical gases, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure all respiratory devices are cleaned, tested, and ready for use.

Requirements for Onboarding

To ensure patient safety and clinical excellence, candidates must possess current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA). Successful onboarding also requires the completion of a skills checklist and a specialty exam.
