This 13-week travel contract for a Registered Respiratory Therapist is based in Cedar Rapids, IA, with a start date of July 20, 2026. The role supports a dynamic unit serving patients of all ages, with a primary focus on adult and NICU populations. The position requires a high level of adaptability, as the therapist will be expected to float across different units throughout the hospital.
The successful candidate will work a varied schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours total), typically falling on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Start times are set for either 07:00 or 19:00, depending on staffing and census needs. As part of the team, you will be required to work one or two of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Labor Day) if the unit is operating.
You will be utilizing EPIC as the primary Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. The role demands proficiency with specific respiratory equipment, including Drager, Jet, and Oscillator ventilators. Candidates must have recent, hands-on experience with these technologies, as well as Level III or Level IV NICU experience within the last 15 months.
Candidates must be current Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) with a minimum of 36 months of experience in a hospital setting. First-time travelers are not eligible; candidates must have completed a travel assignment within the past 15 months. The screening process involves a quick phone or text interview from a 405 area code to verify viability.
Please note that former employees of UPH (whether FTE or PRN) who separated from the float pool are restricted from working travel assignments in another market within the past 12 months. All certifications, including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP, must be active. A valid driver's license and professional references from the last 24 months are also required for onboarding.
