About the Role

The Project Engineer serves as a critical support to Project Managers, ensuring that all work installed on the project strictly adheres to plan and specification requirements. This role acts as a bridge between design intent and field execution, focusing on value analysis, constructability, and cost-saving opportunities that benefit both Layton and the project owner.

In this position, you will work closely with the superintendent to develop project schedules, manage the flow of shop drawings and submittals, and maintain detailed logs of project status. Your day-to-day involves reviewing field procedures, inspecting structural elements, and advising on concrete pour procedures to verify compliance. You will also play a key role in bidding processes, developing scopes of work for trade contractors, and analyzing work methods to improve production efficiency.

Hiring Process

Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field are encouraged to apply. While one year of previous field experience is preferred, the ideal candidate demonstrates a strong desire to learn and the ability to quickly grasp new job-related information. Familiarity with scheduling programs and the ability to convey basic Spanish commands regarding concrete construction are also advantageous.

Equal Opportunity

Layton Construction is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, and other legally protected characteristics.
