We firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization. As a travel nurse with Amergis, you will join a team dedicated to delivering high-quality care across diverse clinical settings.
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. In this travel position, you will play a critical role in the surgical suite, responsible for both scrubbing and circulating duties during operative procedures. You will manage department admissions to the operative suite and work directly under the supervision of the RN assigned to your specific operating room.
Your day will involve demonstrating and practicing strict aseptic techniques, including preoperative hand scrubs, gowning, gloving, and the setup of instrumentation and supplies. You will set up rooms quickly and correctly with minimal supervision, ensuring the correct instruments and supplies are pulled and ready. Whether scrubbed in or circulating, you will assist the surgical team with additional staff, supplies, and procedures, participate in all instrument and sponge counts, and maintain surgeon preference cards.
As a representative of Surgical Services, you will foster a cooperative effort, communicating a positive and caring attitude toward peers, staff, and patients. You will be expected to maintain clinical skills through continuous education, seek guidance when needed, and adhere to all facility policies, The Joint Commission standards, and patient rights.
To join our team, candidates must successfully complete the Amergis Staffing Solutions testing process. Once an assignment is accepted, you are expected to arrive at the facility before your scheduled shift starts to sign in at the nursing office and report to the unit for orientation.
