Join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS, as a Registered Nurse. This 13-week contract role focuses on providing critical care to patients recovering from anesthesia following major procedures, including craniotomies and orthopedic surgeries.
The PACU is a high-acuity recovery unit with 30 beds, operating on a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. The team utilizes the Meditech EMR system and is supported by a mix of travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters. The unit values a resilient personality and a patient-first approach, emphasizing the ability to remain calm under pressure in a competitive healthcare market.
You will work a 12-hour day shift (07:00–19:00) covering three days per week. A key component of this role involves being on-call with a 30-minute response time requirement. Success in this position requires a minimum of one year of current acute care PACU experience, along with active BLS and ACLS certifications.
Candidates must successfully complete the PACU RN Exam and the PACU RN Skills Checklist to proceed with onboarding. This role is open to both travel and local candidates, with priority consideration given to those with flexible availability and prior Meditech experience.
