About the Position
TravelNurseSource is partnering with Mindlance Health to recruit a qualified Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Pre-Post Op department at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. This 13-week contract offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team managing a diverse range of surgical and diagnostic procedures.
About the Role
You will serve as a critical link in the surgical continuum, supporting patients through Pre-Op holding and Phase 2 recovery. The unit manages a mix of inpatient and outpatient cases, including Urology, GYN, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, EP, and CT procedures, as well as outpatient infusions and blood transfusions. The environment prioritizes patient experience and requires seamless communication between staff and providers.
The role involves caring for patients in a 9-bed Pre-Op holding area and a 5-bed Phase 2 recovery unit. You will work alongside a team of 8 full-time RNs, 2 part-time RNs, 4 PRN RNs, and 1 unit HUC. The position utilizes Meditech as the primary EMR and features equipment such as Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machines, Dopplers, and bladder scanners. As an on-call staff member, you must be prepared to respond within 30 minutes when required.

Hiring Process
Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of current acute care Pre-Op RN experience and hold valid BLS and ACLS certifications. The onboarding process requires the completion of a Pre-Op RN Exam and a Pre-Operative RN Skills Checklist. Candidates with prior Meditech experience or specific pre-op background will be prioritized in the selection process.
