About the Position
TravelNurseSource is partnering with Mindlance Health to recruit a qualified Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Pre-Post Op department at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. This 13-week contract offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team supporting critical patient care phases, from pre-operative holding to Phase 2 recovery.
About the Role
In this role, you will serve as a key member of the surgical support team, managing patient care across 9 pre-op beds and 5 Phase 2 recovery beds. The unit handles a diverse caseload including urology, gynecology, endoscopy, cath lab, EP, and CT patients, as well as outpatient infusions and blood transfusions. You will collaborate with a staff of 8 full-time RNs, 2 part-time RNs, 4 PRN RNs, and 1 unit HUC, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:3 during day shifts.
The position requires adaptability and clinical precision, utilizing equipment such as Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machines, Dopplers, and the Meditech EMR. Candidates with Phase 2 recovery experience are prioritized, though the role also welcomes those with pre-op experience or the ability to assist pre-op staff. The unit operates on a competitive market, emphasizing the need for skilled professionals who can respond to facility needs within 30 minutes if on-call.
Hiring Process
