About the Unit
Located on the main floor of Wesley Medical Center, the PACU unit (Unit 704) is a 30-bed recovery area dedicated to patient safety and efficient post-operative care. The team operates with a focused staffing model, typically maintaining a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. The unit handles complex procedures including craniotomies and orthopedic surgeries, requiring a calm demeanor and the ability to perform under pressure.
The environment is fast-paced and collaborative. Staff utilize the Meditech EMR system and are supported by a mix of travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters. The unit culture prioritizes patient experience, and the team values candidates who demonstrate flexibility and resilience in the face of stress. On-call coverage is required, with a 30-minute response time expectation.
