We are seeking a Travel Nurse RN for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Louisville, Kentucky. This 13-week assignment begins on July 6, 2026, covering 36 hours per week with 12-hour day shifts. The unit is a specialized 21-bed Advanced Heart Failure unit managing complex cases including VADs, heart and lung transplants, and pulmonary hypertension.
In this role, you will care for patients with critical needs, managing immediate level ratios of 1:4-5 and 1:3 for new VAD or transplant patients. The position requires proficiency with advanced equipment and therapies, including continuous BiPAP, VADs, trachs, chest tubes, and a variety of critical drips such as amiodarone, Cardizem, Pricor, Dobutamine, Nitro, and Heparin. You will utilize Cerner for EMR, ICU Medical IV pumps, and Phillips monitors. The department offers robust support with two PCA/CNAs, a Unit Secretary, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, and an in-house Cardiology Fellow.
Travelers are welcome, including first-time travelers. Please note that as a travel nurse, you may be required to float to PCU, MedSurg, Tele, or Mixed Acuity units, with travelers floating first in the rotation.
