About the Position
This is a 13-week contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical care, with a strong emphasis on Ortho-Trauma. The role is based in Phoenix, AZ, operating on a night shift schedule (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) for three 12-hour days per week. The position offers a guaranteed 24 hours of pay per week, with a total scheduled time of 36 hours.
Candidates must be experienced and willing to work within the Ortho-Trauma department, adhering to weekend and holiday requirements. The role involves floating between facilities according to facility guidelines. Flexibility regarding locations, shifts, and departments is highly valued, as it accelerates the offer process.
Application & Compliance
Banner Health requires strict adherence to all background check standards. Candidates must submit a completed Banner Cover Page outlining all criteria they are willing to accept, including specific facility names, states, shifts, and departments. The Return to Office (RTO) date must be listed on the cover page and cannot exceed 7 days, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment.
All submitted candidates must be pre-closed and ready to accept the offer immediately. Candidates must be able to start on the listed start date (June 8, 2026) or no more than one week later. Arizona residents are not eligible for assignments in any Arizona facility.
Hiring Process
- Submission: Submit a resume detailing all facilities, departments, trauma level designations, and number of beds worked. Include a completed Med/Surg skills checklist from the last 12 months.
- Verification: Ensure an active license to practice (verified in the last 30 days), a valid driver's license to verify residency, and required certifications (BLS from AHA, ARC, or ASHI).
- Onboarding: Upon acceptance, complete the Core Exam - Nursing, Ishihara Colorvision Screening, LA Fire Safety Card, MedSurg Exam, MedSurg RN Skills Checklist, and RN Pharmacology Exam.
