Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery

About the Position

TravelNurseSource is partnering with Mindlance Health to locate a qualified Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in Oregon City, Oregon. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a Level II maternity unit with a Level I nursery, serving a diverse patient population ranging from low-risk pregnancies to complex cases including gestational hypertension, pre-eclampsia, and multiple gestations.

The Role & Environment

As a Travel RN on this unit, you will work within a collaborative interdisciplinary team that includes IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility operates as a short-term acute care hospital with 109 total beds. The L&D unit features 14 LDRP beds and an on-site operating room, adhering to AWHONN staffing standards with 1:1 ratios for active labors and 1:3 for postpartum couples.

The day-to-day environment is dynamic, typically managing 1-2 labors and 5-8 postpartum patients daily. You will be expected to float between units or to nearby affiliate hospitals within the Providence IRC region if census dictates. The role requires flexibility, including working every other weekend and committing to three of the five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). A personal vehicle is required for this assignment.

Hiring & Application Process

Candidates must submit a complete application including two professional references covering at least one year of experience within the last three years. Please note that candidates must explicitly answer whether they have previously worked at a Providence facility (as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem) and include location and dates if applicable.

The onboarding process includes completing non-billable training modules (averaging 16 hours) via Workramp prior to the start date. Candidates must also adhere to a 50-mile radius rule for local submissions and a 3-month return staff policy if they have previously worked at the facility. Direct contact with facility staff is prohibited; all communication must go through the assigned Account Manager. Refusal to float to sister facilities may result in contract termination.
