Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery

About the Position

Join our Labor & Delivery team in Oregon City, OR, as a Registered Nurse on a 13-week contract. This role is designed for travelers ready to support a Level II maternity unit with a Level I nursery. The facility is a short-term acute care hospital with 109 total beds, offering a dynamic environment where you will manage low-risk patients, gestational hypertensives, pre-eclampsia, twins, and diabetics. While we admit babies over 35 weeks gestation, higher-level care needs are transferred to the nearest NICU.

Day in the Life

You will work a night shift schedule (3 days x 12 hours, 19:00 - 07:30), caring for an average daily census of 1-2 labors and 5-8 postpartum patients. The unit operates with 14 LDRP beds and one operating room on-site. Our staffing model adheres to AWHONN standards, maintaining a 1:1 ratio for active labors and 1:3 for postpartum couples. The team includes resuscitation and break nurses to ensure comprehensive care.

Your day will involve triaging obstetrical patients, managing high-risk deliveries, and providing support for procedures such as C-sections, forceps/vacuum extractions, and epidural anesthesia. You will utilize Epic for charting and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory, and social services. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, and on-call duties may be necessary during low census periods.

• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
