Day in the Life
As a Registered Nurse on the Mother/Baby unit, you will be responsible for the care of postpartum mothers and their newborns. Typical procedures include assisting with newborn safety education, nurturing guidance, and performing necessary care tasks such as circumcisions. The unit operates with a collaborative staffing model; day shifts typically include one Charge RN alongside 7-8 RNs, while night shifts consist of one Charge RN and 6-7 RNs. While patient ratios generally hover around 1:3 or 1:4, these figures are estimates and may vary based on daily needs. Documentation is managed through the unit's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking nurses who possess a compassionate, caring, patient, and friendly attitude. While a minimum of two years of experience is required, candidates with at least one year of current Mother/Baby acute care hospital experience are preferred. Experience in lactation support and transitions is a strong plus. This position is ideal for travel RNs or local support staff looking to join a unit that values patient care priorities and professional growth.
