Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery

TravelNurseSource is partnering with Mindlance Health to recruit a qualified Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in Oregon City, Oregon. This role offers an opportunity to join a short-term acute care facility with 109 total staff beds, serving a community that values high-quality maternal and newborn care.

About the Role

As a Travel RN on the Labor & Delivery unit, you will provide comprehensive care in a 14-bed LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) environment equipped with an on-site operating room. The unit operates as a Level II maternity facility with a Level I nursery, admitting patients ranging from low-risk pregnancies to those with gestational hypertension, diabetes, and twins. While the unit primarily admits babies over 35 weeks gestation, higher-acuity newborns requiring specialized care are transferred to the nearest NICU.

You will work a night shift schedule (3 days x 12 hours, 19:00 - 07:30), caring for approximately 1-2 labors and 5-8 postpartum patients daily. The team adheres to AWHONN staffing standards, maintaining a 1:1 ratio for active labors and 1:3 for postpartum couples. The role includes on-call responsibilities during low census periods and requires working every other weekend. Candidates must be prepared to float between sister facilities nearby if necessary, as refusal to float may result in contract termination.

Hiring Process & Application

To apply, candidates must submit a complete profile including two professional references covering at least one year of experience within the last three years. A specific response regarding prior employment at any Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem) is required at the time of submission, including location and dates worked.

Candidates must commit to working three of the five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer requests may not be granted. Please note that a personal vehicle is required for this assignment.

The onboarding process includes completing non-billable training modules (average 16 hours) via Workramp prior to the start date. All candidates must meet specific compliance requirements, including background checks and drug screening. Direct contact with facility staff is prohibited; all communication must go through the assigned Account Manager.
