About the Position

TravelNurseSource is partnering with Mindlance Health to recruit a qualified Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a supportive, team-oriented unit known for its collaborative culture and experienced staff.

About the Unit

Located on the second floor of the Main Entrance at Wesley Medical Center, the Labor & Delivery unit features 26 beds and a dedicated team of 112 staff members. The unit operates with a strong team nursing approach, where nurses actively look out for and support one another to meet staffing needs. The leadership team is highly supportive, with many members willing to work the floor alongside the staff when necessary.

The unit boasts a high level of expertise, with many tenured nurses possessing 20 to 40 years of experience. In April, the hospital launched a new OB Hospitalist program, providing enhanced attending support to the residency program and triage nurses. The environment is equipped with modern technology, including Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and CPN (GE) monitors, with Meditech serving as the primary EMR.

Hiring Process

Candidates must possess specific credentials to be considered for this role, including a minimum of one year of current acute care hospital L&D RN experience. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and either EFM-C or AWHONN. Additional onboarding requirements include the AWHONN FHM, L&D RN Exam, L&D RN Skills Checklist, and NRP. Candidates with experience in circulating C-sections and high-risk LDR are given priority.
