About the Role
TravelNurseSource is partnering with Prime Staffing to find a qualified Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care team in Springfield, Illinois. This position is based at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital with 562 total staffed beds.
You will join the only dedicated IMC (Intensive Care) unit in the hospital, which serves as a fast-paced environment with high patient throughput. The unit typically operates with a 1:4 patient ratio and features a free charge nurse who may take up to four patients if necessary. As a member of this interdisciplinary team, you will care for patients of all diagnoses, ranging from complex cardiac and neurological cases to trauma and renal failures. The role requires collaboration with Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Hiring Process
Candidates must have an active Illinois license in hand at the time of submission. The application process requires the submission of 2-3 available interview times, along with SSN and DOB. Please note that AHA and Red Cross certifications are required; RQI cards are not accepted.
Upon selection, the first day of the assignment is a virtual at-home day where candidates must complete compliance modules. Strict deadlines apply, with modules due by 4 PM CST on Day 1. Candidates must also be prepared to work two out of three major holidays. For those with prior permanent or PRN experience at the facility, a 12-month separation is required before applying as a traveler.

Requirements
