Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit

About the Position

TravelNurseSource is partnering with Mindlance Health to locate a qualified Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Augusta, Georgia. This 12-week contract offers a unique opportunity to support adult and geriatric patient populations within a dynamic hospital environment.

The role is designed for nurses seeking flexibility and professional growth. You will work a night shift schedule (3 days x 12 hours) with a patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5 in the PCU and 1:5 to 1:6 on Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units. As a float nurse, you will rotate across MS, MS/Tele, and PCU departments, requiring adaptability and a broad skill set in managing complex conditions ranging from cardiac telemetry to neuro stepdown care.

The Team and Environment

The hospital features a robust interdisciplinary support system, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The unit utilizes Epic for charting and Pyxis for medication management. The team is dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients with diverse diagnoses, including those requiring arterial line management, ventilator care, and complex drip protocols.

Compliance and Onboarding: Full compliance is required to start on time. If compliance is not met, the start date may be pushed back by two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. Core items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing, with all documents due the Tuesday prior to the start date. Orientation includes non-billable modules that vary by specialty and are recorded via transcripts.

• A "Aya Offer" is available only if the candidate clinically passes within Return to Office (RTO) guidelines and meets specific facility requirements.
• Flu vaccination is required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination is not required.
• Piedmont Health internal return rules apply: permanent, per diem, or FCSS staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before reapplying as a traveler.
