TravelNurseSource is partnering with job.com LLC to find a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Geriatrics and Skilled Nursing for a facility in New York, NY. This role is designed for a skilled professional ready to join a fast-paced healthcare environment, delivering patient-centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high clinical standards.
The Role in Context
In this high-acuity, team-based setting, you will serve as a vital link in the care continuum for a skilled nursing unit. The position demands adaptability and strong clinical judgment as you manage diverse patient populations. Your day-to-day involves performing comprehensive patient assessments, monitoring ongoing conditions, and administering medications and treatments per physician orders. You will also assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient mobility, while closely tracking vitals and pain levels to report any clinical changes promptly.
Beyond direct patient care, this role emphasizes education and safety. You will be responsible for educating patients and their families on care plans and discharge instructions, ensuring they are well-prepared for their next steps. Maintaining accurate documentation in EMR systems (such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech) and strictly adhering to infection control and safety protocols are integral parts of your responsibilities.

Requirements
- verifiedActive Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice

Nice to Have
Experience in hospital or clinical setting. ACLS certification.
