This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department at a Level IV Trauma Center in Kenosha, WI, which also holds Primary Stroke Center designation and chest pain management accreditation. The facility features a 74-bed hospital, with the Emergency Department comprising 21 beds plus a 6-bed annex. The team serves patients of all ages with a focus on acute and critical care.
The unit operates with a robust support structure, including in-house hospitalists and Emergency Department physicians available 24/7, a health unit coordinator, and on-call RN support for special cases. Phlebotomy services are available to assist with blood draws, and telemetry monitoring is conducted directly from the nursing station. The department utilizes an electronic medical record system for charting, alongside specialized technologies for IV pumps and medication dispensing. Floating to other units is not required for this role.
As a Registered Nurse, you will manage a patient ratio of 1:4 during both day and night shifts. The position covers a 13-week contract with a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week. The role includes a weekend rotation of one weekend per month, with time-off requests approved for up to 7 days. There are no call requirements or specific holiday expectations. Professional attire is required, consisting of solid, professional scrubs without graphics or logos.
Candidates must possess a valid RN license and relevant certifications, including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC/TNS. Additional requirements for onboarding include completion of Pharmacology training, a Skills Checklist, and a Specialty Exam.
