TravelNurseSource is partnering with Mindlance Health to recruit a qualified Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse for a 20-week contract at a facility in Atlanta, Georgia. This role offers a unique chance to work within a high-acuity environment, supporting complex surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacements, and vascular interventions.
As a CVOR RN, you will serve as a vital member of the surgical team, scrubbing for a wide array of cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. The position involves rotating within the facility and potentially floating to the main OR as needed. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services, to ensure optimal patient outcomes during critical surgeries.
The unit operates on a day shift schedule (3 days x 12 hours), with variable call requirements typically consisting of one week of day call every week and one weekend call every 5-6 weeks. This role is ideal for nurses seeking professional growth through exposure to diverse medical technologies and complex case volumes, ranging from abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs to transcatheter aortic valve replacements.
Candidates must meet a minimum of two years of unit experience; however, the unit accepts first-time travelers. The selection process involves a clinical screen to determine clinical fit and compliance with Piedmont guidelines. Once a candidate passes the clinical review, they are forwarded to the manager for a final decision.
Successful candidates must achieve full compliance prior to their start date. This includes completing core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing and submitting all compliance documents by the Tuesday prior to the start date. Orientation hours are non-billable and vary based on contract length.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate as travelers. The organization values flexibility and work-life balance, offering structured Request Time Off (RTO) policies that allow for one weekend of no call in a 4-week timeframe and specific holiday leave considerations based on the assignment calendar.
