About the Position
This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse to join the Cardiovascular Operating Room team in Augusta, GA. The role focuses on supporting adult to geriatric patient populations within a high-acuity environment specializing in vascular and endovascular procedures. The team handles complex cases including Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR), Carotid procedures, and valve replacements, requiring a nurse capable of managing a 1:1 patient ratio with precision and care.
Day in the Life
You will work a 3-day, 12-hour day shift schedule (06:30 - 19:00) in a facility that provides OR scrubs. The role involves scrubbing for advanced cardiovascular surgeries such as CABG, TAVR, and TEVAR, utilizing equipment like the CSI and Penumbra systems. While the primary focus is the CVOR, the position includes call requirements: overnight call approximately twice a week and regular day call once a month, with occasional weekend call shifts. The unit operates with a strict 1:1 patient census, ensuring dedicated attention for every patient.
Hiring & Onboarding Process
Candidates must first pass a clinical screen to determine fit within Piedmont guidelines before being reviewed by the hiring manager. Once selected, full compliance is required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. New hires must complete core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing, with all compliance documents due the Tuesday prior to the start date.
Orientation includes non-billable modules specific to the specialty, which are completed during the onboarding period. Candidates must also pass the CVOR Exam and the CVOR RN Skills Checklist to be cleared for onboarding. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
