ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a travel nursing assignment in Wilmington, North Carolina. This 13-week contract focuses on the Med/Surg and Telemetry units, where the nurse will provide comprehensive care to patients with various acute medical conditions.
The day-to-day responsibilities involve managing patient care, monitoring telemetry data to interpret dysrhythmias, and executing critical care protocols. The role requires a high level of clinical proficiency, including administering medications, managing IV insulin protocols, and handling blood product administration. Nurses in this position will also care for patients with colostomy and feeding tubes, assist with hemodialysis management, and perform phlebotomy and PICC line care. The environment includes wound care management, the use of wound vacs, and strict adherence to isolation precautions for patients with conditions such as COVID-19.
Common patient diagnoses in this unit include dementia, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleeds, anemia, and hip fractures. The position operates on a night shift schedule consisting of three consecutive 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15). Candidates must be prepared to float to different units as needed and work effectively with rapid response teams.
