Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide direct patient care in the ED holding area for adult patients awaiting inpatient placement
- check_circleMonitor and manage telemetry, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- check_circlePerform clinical skills including blood product administration, line care, and airway management
- check_circleUtilize Pyxis for medication management and Epic for patient documentation
- check_circleParticipate in Storm Team and Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
- check_circleFloat to ED and MedSurg areas to adapt to varying patient acuity levels
Requirements
- verifiedActive RN license in NC or Compact state
- verifiedMinimum 2 years RN experience in Medical/Surgical and/or Telemetry
- verifiedCurrent BLS certification
- verifiedCurrent ACLS certification
- verifiedProficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- verifiedExperience with colostomy care, feeding tube management, renal failure, heparin/insulin administration, isolation precautions, ABG interpretation, and non-invasive airway management
- verifiedMust pass EKG testing prior to start
Nice to Have
NIHSS certification; experience with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injuries, or traumatic brain injury; IV insulin protocol management; pre/post hemodialysis management; experience accessing ports, performing central line blood draws, and wound care/wound vac management; orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement experience.
