Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- check_circlePerform telemetry monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- check_circleProvide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management and high-flow nasal cannula therapy
- check_circleAdminister medications and manage feeding tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, and wound vac therapy
- check_circleFloat to a nearby campus as required and participate in storm or disaster response teams
- check_circleManage vascular access including peripheral IV insertion, central line blood draws, and blood product administration
Requirements
- verifiedMinimum 2 years of Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience
- verifiedActive NC RN license or valid Compact RN license
- verifiedCurrent BLS certification
- verifiedNIHSS certification
- verifiedProficiency with dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring
- verifiedExperience with chest tubes, phlebotomy, pre/post hemodialysis management, isolation precautions/PPE, and oral suctioning
Nice to Have
ACLS certification; experience with post-angiogram, post-cardiac surgery, post-MI care, and IV insulin protocols; experience with tracheostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, accessing/managing ports, surgical drains, and ABG interpretation; background in CVA care, substance withdrawal management, bariatric surgery, and pre/post thoracic surgery; previous charge nurse experience; community hospital background; proficiency with electronic documentation.
