This 13-week contract opportunity is based at a hospital in Toledo, OH, seeking an experienced Clinical Dietitian to join the team immediately. The role is designed for a professional who can hit the ground running, as the short duration requires immediate competency rather than extensive training. The position focuses on high-risk patient care, including those on enteral and parenteral nutrition, and serves as a critical resource for the Food & Nutrition Services staff.
You will spend your day evaluating and completing assessments for high-risk patients, analyzing drug-food interactions, and calculating precise calorie, protein, and fluid needs based on individual medical conditions. A significant portion of your time involves developing care plans, documenting progress in the medical record, and communicating findings with the interdisciplinary team. You will also educate in-patients and out-patients on therapeutic diets, considering their specific learning needs, cultural backgrounds, and economic factors. Additionally, you will provide specialized services to ESRD patients receiving outpatient dialysis and serve as a preceptor for medical students, dietetic interns, and allied health trainees.
The shift is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements. The schedule runs from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, covering 8.5 hours per day (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch). This is a local role in Toledo, OH, with travel candidates also considered.
Interested candidates should contact Account Manager Lexi Ray at Qualivis to discuss the opportunity. Please note that a COVID-19 vaccine is not required for this position, while flu vaccine status is currently unknown.
