We are seeking a fellowship-trained Trauma Surgeon to join a busy team at our high-volume Level II Trauma Center. This role offers a comprehensive scope of emergency general services, trauma care, and acute surgical services within a fast-paced environment. You will be at the forefront of trauma care innovation in Central Iowa, helping to grow programs, refine clinical pathways, and strengthen regional access.
In this position, you will partner with a team of 6 Physicians and 12 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to manage a full scope of trauma responsibilities, including operating room duties, rounding, clinic, and critical care. The role includes co-managing a 16-bed CSICU with Pulmonary and Critical Care, utilizing robotics in acute care surgery, and serving as an Adjunct Faculty member for the General Surgery Residency. The position utilizes the EPIC EMR and offers a schedule of 15 shifts per month with a combination of days and nights, one clinic day per week, and unrestricted shared night EGS back-up call.
