About the Role
At NewYork-Presbyterian, Transporters are essential to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for patients and their families. This role goes beyond simple logistics; it is about being a patient ambassador who provides a positive experience through friendly smiles, conversations, and a culture of compassion, caring, warmth, and support.
In this position, you will escort patients from nursing units to various hospital departments while conducting yourself in a courteous manner. You will respond to patients' needs and inquiries politely and promptly, spending quality time to build solid relationships with patients and their families. The role also involves making pick-ups and deliveries of medical records, lab specimens, pharmacy items, and other equipment. Additionally, you may be required to change oxygen tanks and apply oxygen regulators on conveyance vehicles.
Location and Schedule
This is a part-time evening shift position located at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens in Flushing, NY. The schedule consists of 3 days a week from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The shift includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Please note that weekends are required for the first two years of employment. Registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund is required for this shift.

Requirements
