About the Role
This position is based in the North Hollywood, CA area (91601) and serves as a vital support role within an outpatient clinic dedicated to mentally ill adults. The primary mission of this role is to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of clients between their board and care residences and the clinic, while also providing essential emotional support and assistance during their daily programs.
Day in the Life
Your day typically runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, though flexibility is required to accommodate irregular shifts and different locations. A significant portion of your time will be spent managing the logistics of client transport, including gathering ASC clients for day programs, doctor's appointments, and community outings. You will be responsible for inspecting vehicles daily, checking tire gauges, fuel levels, and cleanliness, as well as maintaining accurate mileage logs.
Beyond driving, you will actively engage with clients by assisting them in entering and exiting vehicles safely and assessing their appropriateness for travel. The role also involves direct care support, such as assisting with client lunches, preparing simple meals, and running errands between company sites. You will participate in staff meetings and training activities, maintaining strict client confidentiality and reporting any unusual situations to your supervisor immediately.
Application Instructions
Candidates must possess a valid California Class B driver's license with a Passenger Endorsement and a good driving history. A criminal background check, recent health screening, and TB test are required. While a High School Diploma and two years of experience serving mentally ill or disabled populations are preferred, the organization is committed to supporting candidates who may need assistance obtaining current CPR, First Aid, or De-escalation Training certifications.
