About the Role
The IT Configuration Analyst serves as a journeyman-level leader for configuration management, ensuring the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) accurately reflects the enterprise's infrastructure, applications, and services. This position is critical for maintaining data integrity, acting as the trusted source for decision-making across the IT environment. By owning both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, the analyst ensures configuration data is complete, reliable, and usable for impact analysis and risk assessment.
Operating as a key liaison between operations, engineering, and service management stakeholders, the role drives governance activities that underpin effective incident, change, and problem management. The analyst ensures that configuration practices support stable, efficient, and compliant IT service delivery within a regulated federal environment. This involves leading configuration audits, reconciling data discrepancies from discovery feeds and change records, and defining metrics to sustain data quality.

Requirements

Nice to Have
Experience supporting or leading an enterprise CMDB implementation, including discovery, service mapping, or integration with other IT operations tools. ITIL Foundation or higher-level ITSM certification validating formal knowledge of configuration and related processes. Prior experience in a federal or highly regulated environment with documented configuration governance and audit requirements. Background in data quality, reporting, or metrics development focused on configuration or asset management data.
