This Senior Data Center Technician position provides senior-level operational support for SEC ISS data center services, ensuring reliable, secure, and well-documented infrastructure operations. You will lead the day-to-day execution of data center activities across headquarters, primary, alternate, and smaller regional-site data centers.
Your day involves managing hardware moves, adds, and changes (MAC), coordinating rack and power cabling, and maintaining continuous updates to inventory and capacity records. You will work directly with system architecture and operations teams to execute System Change Requests accurately and on schedule using enterprise change and service management platforms. The role requires maintaining readiness for 24x7x365 emergency response requirements, including a 2-hour response for urgent incidents as requested by the SEC.
You will be responsible for producing daily status updates and weekly reporting on capacity, workflow, schematics, environmental conditions, and inventory. By tracking floor space, rack space, power, and cooling utilization, you will support planning and reliability efforts while maintaining operational and as-built documentation to ensure audit readiness.
This role is based on-site at SEC Headquarters in Washington, DC, with telework opportunities. Participation in on-call or surge support activities may be required depending on operational needs, including 24x7x365 emergency response coverage. Travel is required as per contract direction.
