Join our team as a Traffic Control Apprentice and become the front line for safety on the road. In this role, you will be essential to maintaining the flow of traffic around construction zones, maintenance projects, and temporary disruptions. Your work ensures the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians by strictly adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.
As a Traffic Control Apprentice, you will serve as the critical link between active work zones and the public. You will control vehicle and pedestrian traffic using handheld signs, paddles, and flags, while setting up and maintaining temporary work zones complete with signs, barricades, and cones. This position requires you to communicate clearly with drivers to guide safe traffic flow and monitor construction activity to anticipate potential hazards.
You will be part of a team that coordinates closely with supervisors and colleagues using hand signals and radios. Whether you are warning workers of approaching vehicles or assisting with loading and unloading equipment, your attention to detail and professional demeanor are vital. This is an opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic environment where safety is the top priority.
This is an outdoor role based in and around construction zones. You will be exposed to traffic, loud noises, and construction equipment, and you may travel to various work sites. The position requires the ability to work in all weather conditions and stand for extended periods (8+ hours) while maintaining focus. Shift times may change daily, requiring full-time availability.
We are looking for team players who are willing to learn and follow safety procedures. No prior experience is required, though traffic control experience is preferred. All candidates must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid driver's license with reliable transportation, and be able to pass a drug screen. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
We provide Traffic Control/Flagger Certification during orientation. If you are ready to build your future with consistent work at $20/hour, we invite you to apply for part-time or full-time opportunities.
