About the Role
This position serves as a vital link in our aerospace manufacturing operations, combining precision manual machining with collaborative toolroom innovation. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of equipment, including manual milling machines, engine lathes, surface grinders, and CNC milling machines, to hold tolerances tighter than .0005". Beyond standard production, the role involves conceptualizing, prototyping, and manufacturing custom jigs, fixtures, and tooling to enhance overall production quality and throughput.
The day-to-day workflow requires close collaboration across departments to solve complex manufacturing challenges. You will perform rework and repair activities to ensure part compliance, conduct rigorous inspections using mechanical and optical measurement tools, and manage secondary operations like deburring and cleaning. A key aspect of this role is maintaining the toolroom environment by adhering to 5S standards for safety and organization, performing minor equipment maintenance, and supporting the training of other employees.
