About the Role
This position is for a skilled manual machinist within an exciting team dedicated to designing, building, and repairing jigs and fixtures while providing comprehensive shop support. You will work with a diverse array of equipment, including CNC and manual mills, lathes, jig bores, surface and rotary grinders, saws, drill presses, ProtoTRAK mills, CNC Haas machines, Wire and Sinker EDMs, and heat treat ovens. Welding, fabrication, and CAD/CAM experience are considered valuable assets in this collaborative environment.
Hiring Process
Our recruitment process is designed to assess practical skills and technical aptitude through the following stages:
- Online Assessment: Candidates complete a computer-based assessment via Tooling U, typically taking 2.5 hours. This is conducted onsite at our facility in Greenville, SC, and must be scheduled between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
- Practical Test: Successful candidates proceed to a 40-hour practical test. You will be provided with two drawings, two pieces of material, a test toolbox, and access to manual equipment to produce two parts. We offer flexibility to schedule 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM. During this time, you will be employed as a contract worker and paid for your shop time. Upon completion, parts are measured on a CMM and via manual measurements.
- Final Interviews: Passing the practical test leads to the final stage, which includes additional interviews before a potential offer is presented.
