About the Role
The Tool Assistant is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the tool program at our Lawrence, KS office. This role serves as the vital link between the field and the warehouse, ensuring that foremen receive the correct equipment on time.
In this position, you will manage the entire lifecycle of tool distribution. You will take orders via email, phone, or verbally, clarifying requirements to ensure accuracy before tools are sent to the site. Your day involves pulling tools from the cage, assembling orders for delivery according to the schedule, and procuring out-of-stock items with manager approval. You will also handle returns, processing tools back into inventory after confirming they are operational, cleaned, and wiped down. Additionally, you will assist in loading and unloading tools from warehouse vehicles.
Working hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. This role requires a team player who is organized, efficient, and capable of physically lifting and moving tools up to 50 pounds.
