About the Role
The Maintenance/Custodial position at Twin Lakes High School is a vital component of the Twin Lakes School Corporation, ensuring a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and the community. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, this role is essential to the daily operations of the school, maintaining the physical integrity of the facility while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
In this position, you will be the eyes and ears of the building, working cooperatively with the school community to keep all areas orderly. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve a dynamic mix of tasks, from routine cleaning duties like vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing restrooms to more specialized maintenance support such as changing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and managing chemical applications. You will also play a critical role in safety protocols, particularly during inclement weather by shoveling and salting walkways, and by proactively identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or equipment issues to administration.
Success in this role requires a physical ability to perform various tasks, including bending, kneeling, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds independently. You must possess the dexterity to work at heights and the attention to detail to distinguish between chemical materials and adhere to strict safety procedures. Effective communication and the ability to prioritize duties are key to working professionally within the school environment.
