Cumberland County is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain the building in Portland, Maine through essential night-time housekeeping services. This role is vital to ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all county operations. The position operates on a 3 PM to 11 PM shift, allowing for thorough maintenance of the facility while minimizing disruption to daytime activities.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties including dusting and polishing furniture, sweeping and mopping floors, and maintaining lavatories. Your day will also involve floor care such as stripping and buffing, carpet vacuuming, and trash removal. Beyond interior cleaning, you will play a key role in building security by locking and securing the facility before departure. Additionally, you will support the county's winter operations by assisting with snow shoveling, blowing, and treating walkways as needed.
