We are seeking a Title I Career Planner to join our team at the IowaWORKS office in Fort Dodge. This role is designed to be a cornerstone of our customer service, acting as a guide for job seekers navigating their career paths and a resource for local employers.
In this position, you will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, greeting them with professionalism and warmth. Your day will involve deep collaboration with team members within the American Job Center to ensure a seamless experience for every customer. You will coach and motivate job seekers through the entire employment lifecycle—from resume tailoring and mock interviews to identifying the right workshops and labor market opportunities. Additionally, you will engage directly with businesses to understand their hiring needs and facilitate recruitment strategies.
The role also involves supporting unemployment claimants by connecting them with re-employment activities and ensuring compliance with UI laws. Whether working in-person or virtually, you will document services accurately and provide tailored guidance to help individuals achieve their employment goals.
Selected candidates will be subject to a criminal background check. Please note that no applicant can have a current, ongoing overpayment balance with Iowa Workforce Development without a payment plan in place. The State of Iowa participates in E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility.
