At Infinite Legacy, we are dedicated to saving and restoring lives through the donation of tissues. Our mission is to provide high-quality tissue products for transplantation and research, ensuring that every donor's gift is honored with the utmost respect and professionalism. We foster a culture where employee well-being is paramount, supporting our team both in the workplace and in their personal lives.
The Tissue Recovery Specialist 1 serves as a vital link in the chain of life, performing surgical recovery of specific tissues including corneas, split-thickness, and full-thickness skin for transplantation and research. Working under the direction of the Regional Supervisor and Team Leaders, you will operate within operating rooms, morgues, and pathology environments to prepare bodies for surgery, assist in the recovery process, and ensure the safe packaging and labeling of tissue grafts.
This role is dynamic and demanding, requiring you to function effectively in high-stress situations while adhering to strict sterile techniques and universal precautions. You will be a professional representative of Infinite Legacy, often working off-site at various hospitals and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME). Your day-to-day involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, managing complex documentation, and responding rapidly to consented cases. The position is physically active, requiring the ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods, all while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a comprehensive interview process to assess technical competency, cultural fit, and ability to work in a rotating shift environment. Successful applicants must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination status as a condition of employment. The role includes mandatory training and regulatory competencies that extend beyond scheduled shifts to ensure clinical expertise and certification status are maintained.
Infinite Legacy is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We value the unique backgrounds and perspectives that our team members bring to our mission of saving lives. We strive to create a supportive environment where all employees can thrive.
This position operates on a 12-hour rotating call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Employees must be available to respond to notifications within 10 minutes and travel throughout the donor service area regardless of weather conditions. The role involves exposure to bio-hazardous materials and requires strict adherence to safety protocols. We offer overtime opportunities, shift differentials, and a robust benefits package to support our team members in this critical work.
