Staples is a business-to-business powerhouse, and this role is the vital link that binds our growth strategy to our customers. As part of our B2B sales team, you will operate within a defined territory to prospect and win net new small to medium business customers. This is a high-velocity position designed to expand our customer base by leveraging a prioritized call list to drive engagement through phone, video, face-to-face interactions, and digital tools.
You will serve as the primary driver for new account acquisition and onboarding. Your mission is to hunt for opportunities, set the required number of appointments with key decision-makers, and effectively communicate Staples' value propositions across all product categories. Beyond the initial sale, you are responsible for ramping and onboarding new accounts to ensure they become "sticky" customers who continue to purchase from Staples.
This role requires a consultative approach where you discover incremental and programmatic needs, overcome objections, and close deals. You will work closely with internal partners, including customer support, setup teams, and category specialists, to progress deals from prospect to closed won. Success in this position demands a strong drive to win, the ability to view rejection as a learning opportunity, and the discipline to function independently while maintaining professional communication with prospects daily.
This is a remote position with a regional focus. While the role primarily supports working from home, the individual must live within or adjacent to the Washington, DC and Richmond, VA region to effectively support local customers.
