The Tenancy Supports Specialist plays a vital role in implementing the Kentucky 1915(i) RISE Initiative, which expands Medicaid services for individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and/or a co-occurring Substance Use Disorder (SUD). This position focuses on helping participants secure and maintain stable housing, promoting independence, recovery, and community integration.
You will partner with housing authorities, landlords, and community partners to facilitate housing access. Your day-to-day involves assisting individuals in identifying, securing, and maintaining safe and affordable housing while providing tenancy support services such as lease negotiation, landlord mediation, and eviction prevention. You will also educate participants on tenant rights and responsibilities and support them in developing essential skills for independent living, including budgeting, hygiene, and home maintenance. Regular home visits will be conducted to assess housing stability and provide ongoing support.
This role is based at Kentucky River Community Care/Breathitt Complex, where the team is dedicated to expanding access to critical behavioral health and housing support services within the community.
