The Telecommunications Installation Technician I is a career-track technical position dedicated to installing and supporting information systems for dairy farms across the United States. This role is designed for individuals with a strong technical aptitude who thrive in a team environment and are eager to work directly within a farm setting.
As part of this team, you will be responsible for the installation and support of networks, surveillance cameras, computers, and computer hardware. This is a physically demanding position that requires significant travel, with a minimum of 60% of your time spent on the road throughout the country.
This role is primarily performed outdoors on active dairy farms, often in close proximity to livestock. Technicians must be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions, ranging from extreme heat to cold. The work frequently involves the use of ladders and aerial lifts, with heights reaching up to 100 feet. Additionally, the position requires driving a vehicle and occasional air travel to reach job sites.
While the field work is extensive, the role also requires the ability to use a computer and telephone for several hours each day within an office environment to manage tasks and documentation.
Technicians must be capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, and climbing ladders. The role also requires the ability to lift up to 80 pounds as needed to complete installation and support tasks.
