At American Electric Power (AEP), we are more than just an energy company; we are a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions. Guided by our mission to put the customer first, we strive to exceed expectations by listening, responding, and continuously improving the way we serve our communities. This role is part of our On-Site Telecommunications team, where we leverage technology to maintain the infrastructure that powers our operations.
As a Telecommunication GIS Analyst, you will be the bridge between field conditions and our digital data landscape. Your primary focus is ensuring that our technical data, maps, and sketches accurately reflect the physical reality of our assets. You will work with vector and raster data sets, utilizing GPS methods and remote sensing concepts to manage geographic and cartographic information.
In this position, you will not only create and maintain critical records but also collaborate with technical staff to resolve software discrepancies and enhance our database models. Your work ensures that our systems respond effectively to suggestions for improvements, supporting the broader goal of operational excellence. You will be expected to integrate complex geospatial data using Windows-based systems and specialized cartographic software, often requiring flexibility to work outside normal business hours or travel to field sites.
