This position serves as a vital support member within the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Laboratory. The primary mission is to assist in complex cardiovascular procedures by scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring patients under the direct supervision of interventional cardiologists or electrophysiologists. The role provides essential technical support for the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular diseases, ensuring that every procedure is executed with precision and adherence to established hospital protocols.
As a key team member, you will demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cardiac Cath Lab principles, utilizing the most appropriate techniques and positioning to optimize procedure outcomes. Your day involves developing specific procedure and treatment plans, then implementing them according to current competencies and scope of practice. Beyond the procedural floor, you are responsible for maintaining equipment, procedure rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to guarantee the safety of both patients and staff. You will also actively participate in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure patient care consistently meets established standards, while completing all required documentation to comply with hospital policies.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited cardiovascular technology associate degree program. A minimum of one year of experience in a cardiac catheterization or EP lab is required. Regarding licensure, successful candidates must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 14 days of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six months of hire, and RCIS/RCES certification is also required.
