The Technical Sales Specialist serves as a critical bridge between IPG's innovative packaging solutions and the marketplace. In this position, you will provide deep technical expertise across our portfolio, including shrink films, stretch films, protective packaging, tape heads, and carton closure equipment. Your primary mission is to partner with sales, engineering, R&D, operations, and customers to ensure optimal product performance, drive sales growth, and deliver IPG's unique value proposition.
You will act as a field-based feedback loop, gathering customer insights and sales data to support product development and innovation efforts. By collaborating with Corporate Account Managers, Territory Business Managers, and sales leadership, you will identify customer needs, develop tailored solutions, and support the closing of complex sales opportunities. This role is essential for translating technical capabilities into commercial success, ensuring that both end-users and distributors understand how to maximize the efficiency and value of IPG's technologies.
Your day will likely involve a dynamic mix of customer engagement, technical training, and strategic collaboration. You will participate in customer meetings to provide technical guidance on product application, equipment performance, and implementation best practices. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to demonstrating equipment and machine capabilities confidently to end users and distributors.
You will also work closely with Sales Management, R&D, and Engineering to communicate technical needs and commercial considerations. This includes assisting in the development of technical selling best practices, such as value analysis, cost-saving programs, and end-user training. As a mentor to the field service team, you will support ongoing capability development across the commercial organization. Additionally, you will monitor competitive activity and engage with packaging equipment suppliers to ensure compatibility and optimization with IPG products.
