As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will partner closely with IPG Sales Representatives to bridge the gap between complex technical capabilities and customer needs. Your primary mission is to ensure that effective technical solutions are developed and delivered, fulfilling specific customer requirements for shrink films, stretch films, protective packaging, tape heads, and carton closure equipment.
You will serve as a field feedback loop for product development, gathering insights from sales and customers to drive future innovation. This role requires you to be a confident expert who can demonstrate machine capabilities, explain product features, and guide customers through implementation and execution best practices.
Your work involves a dynamic mix of strategic analysis and field engagement. You will partner with sales and internal departments to define technical "best practices," ranging from RFQ/RFP analysis and value analysis to quarterly reviews and annualized cost-saving programs. A significant portion of your time will be spent identifying complex opportunities for new and existing customers, matching their long and short-term goals with the right solutions.
You will act as the technical voice in customer meetings, providing expertise on partnerships and product performance. Additionally, you will coordinate with Sales Management, R&D, Engineering, and Operations to ensure technical and commercial requirements are clearly defined. A key part of your success involves proactively improving relationships with shrink and stretch wrap equipment suppliers to understand how their machinery interacts with IPG products.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to travel 70% of the time by vehicle or air. A valid driver's license is required to operate a vehicle as part of these field responsibilities.
