This position serves as a strategic bridge between our technical operations and our clients, ensuring the Rotary Steerable Tool (RST) performs optimally at every job site. As a Technical Field Representative, you will proactively attract new business while cultivating deep, trusted relationships with current clients. Your mission is to drive cohesive efforts that support operators and directional companies, ensuring the D-Tech tools run effectively and safely on location.
You will act as a trusted advisor to our customers, working closely with them to measure and improve their drilling performance. The role involves a dynamic day-to-life on the rigs, where you will provide critical technical support, train directional drillers on tool functionality and efficient steering modes, and guide teams through complex BHA designs and hydraulics optimization. From pre-job visual verifications to real-time monitoring of well trajectory and hazard detection, you will be the on-site expert ensuring data quality, operational reliability, and the highest standards of drilling efficiency.
Candidates must possess relevant field experience and industry certifications to be considered. The application process requires a demonstration of technical proficiency in directional drilling operations and a commitment to safety compliance.
Safety is the ultimate responsibility of every team member. We expect all employees to be familiar with and strictly adhere to company safety policies, industry regulations, and customer-specific procedures. You will be empowered to advise on the safe execution of field services and are expected to immediately report any incidents or conditions that could lead to injury or environmental harm. We maintain a culture of accountability where good housekeeping, proper equipment usage, and open communication regarding imminent dangers are paramount.

D-Tech Rotary Steerable is an independent provider of rotary steerable tools headquartered in Houston, Texas, serving the oil and gas industry. The company designs and supplies equipment focused on real-time telemetry, high-speed operations, and high-temperature capabilities to deliver reliable and cost-effective drilling solutions. Rather than operating as a service provider, D-Tech collaborates directly with operators and directional drilling companies to enhance performance and reduce non-productive time through less complex and more accurate tooling.
The organization supports clients throughout the drilling operations lifecycle, offering comprehensive training and 24/7 remote real-time center support to optimize efficiency. Their push-the-bit tools provide full 3D directional control, allowing for build, drop, and turn maneuvers while keeping the entire assembly rotating to reduce friction and lost-in-hole risks. This technology enables drilling in intermediate, vertical, curve, and lateral sections with closed-loop control of inclination and azimuth via downlink commands.
A key operational feature involves a steering section utilizing six hydraulically operated pistons that divert a portion of drilling fluid to generate force against the wellbore. The system incorporates a nonmagnetic collar containing an electronic control package with a six-axis accelerometer and magnetometer. This design aims to expedite well delivery, increase reliability, and expand bottom hole assembly flexibility with a universal plug-and-play approach.
